Leonardo always had a plan.
Whether it was in battle, coming up with ingenious game plans, or at home, being uncannily good at games like go or chess. And he had a plan for Raphael, too.
As it was, all three of Raphael's brothers were aware of the difficulties of his recovery. Raphael, while obviously making a lot of progress, was still nowhere near being back to his old level of energy and confidence. What had happened to him had left deep, gaping wounds in his mind and his soul and for a part of it, Raphael was more than eager to heal them with everything he had.
However, at the same time, he was still – consciously or unconsciously – punishing himself, refusing to forgive himself for what had been done to him, for /letting/ it happen.
He was doing it by over-straining in the dojo, when he thought nobody would notice, sticking to the milder exercises Donnie and master Splinter had allowed him but pushing as much as he could get away with. He was doing it by skipping meals

Handling two little babies was quite a task.
As Leonardo flopped down onto the couch, next to Raphael, he gave a small sigh, regarding his exhausted-looking little brother.
After the ceremony for the deceased babies, things had started to gradually improve over the following weeks. Raphael was doing well for the most part, allowing himself to mourn and letting his brothers help a little with Pino and Gianni.
Yet, Leonardo was not quite satisfied with the situation. Raphael was still overdoing it, dark shadows under his vibrant green eyes and his muscles standing out sharper. The surest sign that Raph had lost weight, even after he returned home from his captivity. Everything he did was to orbit around his babies, claiming again and again that he couldn't simply /not/ care this much for them.
To an extent, Leonardo understood. He figured it was similar to how he would stay up all night and grind himself to the bone for his brothers. And yet he knew it was different for Raphael and his c
