Something tickled at his nose and Dib startled awake, blinking up into the dusky autumn sky with confusion. He couldn't remember falling asleep, but judging by the falling darkness around them, he must have been napping for at least an hour.
Strangely enough, he still felt the lithe weight of his alien companion next to him, right where he had been before he, apparently, had nodded off. Turning his head, Dib did a kind of double-take at the sight that greeted him.
Zim was lying next to him, his head resting heavily on his shoulder and large eyes closed.
Zim was slee- no. No. Irkens didn't sleep, Dib knew. But he was resting. The human barely dared to breathe, not wanting to disturb this rare moment of peace and trust.
Because it was.
It was a blatant display of how much the alien could relax in his presence. Even out in the open, even without his disguise on... Zim felt safe enough to let down his guard and take a nap with him.
Dib smiled, holding perfectly still to not rouse him
